Fast Food and Fat We
all need sources of healthy fat in our diet every day; the
key is to choose foods with healthy fats. A good rule to follow
is to eliminate trans fat from your child’s diet, reduce
the amount of saturated fat and supply them with healthy sources
of unsaturated fats found in vegetable oils, avocados, nuts
and seeds.

• Healthy
fats are usually liquid at room temperature • Reduce the amount of fast food and fried food in your child’s diet • Fats high in omega 3 fatty
acids (fish oil) are good for growing brains
• Limit saturated fats and avoid trans fat (partially hydrogenated oil)
